Startup airlines plan more expansion

America's Class of 2021 startup airlines keep on adding routes and cities, with Breeze now looking for its first international route and Avelo beefing up West Coast service.

Avelo, which just recently added numbers of flights and routes to Wilmington, Delaware, where it is the only scheduled carrier, is adding more West Coast destinations, including Redmond, Oregon, which will get service to Sonoma County, California and Bozeman, Montana, which will get service to Hollywood Airport in Burbank. Burbank will also get a new connection to Glacier National Park in Moontana.

Breeze, which has continued receiving deliveries of its new A220s, has asked Transportation Department approval for a route connection Los Angeles, California with Los Cabos in Mexico, with weekly service starting in November. Its application notes that six airlines already serve that route, but none of them is a low-cost carrier like Breeze.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
