Star Alliance airlines are launching a contest that invites participants to make a pitch for a cultural experience they've had and would like to share. The winner will get a million miles from the frequent flier program of their favorite Star Alliance member. It's part of Star Alliance's 20th anniversary celebration
There are 21 participating programs among the 28 members, which include United, Lufthansa, Air Canada, Avianca, SAS, Singapore and TAP. Entering requires choosing a program, and then uploading a profile picture and a description of the experience, what made it special, and how it relates to the contest theme of 'connecting people and cultures.'
Because Alliance members are based in so many countries, the contest is available in 9 official languages: Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), English, French, German, Korean, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish. Star Alliance has partnered with National Geographic, which will select the winners.
