This wildlife sanctuary is located about 20 miles south of the USA-Canadian border and 5 miles west of the town of Bonner's Ferry. It sits at the base of the Selkirk Mountains and is on an important stop for migrating birds. Larger animals such as deer, elk, moose, bears and cougars are sometimes spotted here.
We visited in early spring, when the deciduous trees were just starting to bud out and snow still covered the mountain peaks. I thought it a beautiful spot. Here are a few scenes from our visit.
