Spirit Airlines in big Florida expansion

Spirit Airlines, which considers itself "Florida's airline" is beefing up its Orlando base with eleven new routes to the Caribbean and three to the Carolinas.

The new routes, listed below, will make Orlando a competitor with Las Vegas as Spirit's #2 base; its main base and busiest site is Fort Lauderdale.

Spirit says it expects most of the business on the new routes will be from people traveling between the city pairs, but also can obviously provide connections for travelers to and from other points on its route map.
