Skyscraper hotel planned for Swiss valley

A 100-suite luxury hotel, the same height as the Empire State Building, is planned for a tiny Swiss town of only 1000 residents. Room rates would run from just under $1000 a night to nearly $25,000 a night. It's aimed at (VERY) wealthy guests from the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

 

Because of its extremely small base (50x100 feet) it would require extremely deep foundations. It will possibly have a hard time getting planning permissions, and some believe it may actually be more a publicity stunt than a plan...but it's hard to tell. MORE
