The day my daughter and I visited Shenandoah Caverns for a new story for TravelGumbo, we were told they closed that day and for the unforeseeable future due to the increase in COVID cases. After a few photos of the elf, gnome, and building façade, we departed hoping for a future return for a photo story on TravelGumbo.

This year is the 100th Anniversary of the caverns (1922-2022). A good time for a return visit maybe this summer or early fall, now that the caverns have re-opened. The caverns are located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia
