Scotland's new digital trail links UNESCO sites

Scotland's latest tourism attraction is a unique-in-the-world digital trail that links all thirteen of the country's Unesco World Heritage sites, from isolated islands, iconic bridges, misty Highlands and several cities.

Funded by several sources, including £360,000 from the Scottish government, the project is being heavily promoted by Scottish tourism authorities who hope that it will not only draw tourists back to Scotland but also encourage them to see more parts of the country.

The full list of destinations included in Scotland’s Unesco Trail are:

  • The Galloway & Southern Ayrshire Unesco biosphere
  • Wester Ross Unesco biosphere
  • Dundee Unesco City of Design
  • Edinburgh Unesco City of Literature
  • Glasgow Unesco City of Music
