Ryanair to sell fees by the year

Ryanair will soon offer a €199 package that entitles passengers to a year of free priority boarding, fast-track lines, free seat selection and includes two pieces of carry-on luggage.

Ryanair Choice, as it will be called, is aimed at passengers who use Ryanair a lot, because the fees, paid separately, generally run from €9 to €15 per flight. At the lower figure, you'd have to fly 22 times to break even. On the other hand, if you have more money than patience, you might go for it anyway to simplify.

Subscriptions will go on sale at the end of summer, along with other customer service changes, including a Customer Care Charter that promises that flyers whose flights have been delayed or cancelled will have their compensation claims under European law handled within 10 days.

Ryanair also promises that it will provide 24/7 customer support and connect passengers to an agent within two minutes. And, it will allow passengers to make changes in itinerary or tickets 48 hours grace for free changes instead of the current 24.

Is Ryanair trying to ruin its reputation for being difficult to deal with?

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
