Ryanair Madrid strike; no baggage service

Ryanair's ground workers at Madrid's airport are on an "open-ended" strike against plans to cut their wages 25-30% as well as issues over inadequate safety equipment, work shifts and holidays. They've accused the company of refusing to negotiate with them.

Ryanair is currently flying its Madrid flights as "hand baggage only," and offers customers who can't or won't travel that way free shifts to a different airport or a different date.

Another complication for travel to Spain was reported HERE previously: Air traffic controllers are planning four days of strikes in June.
