Qatar claims longest-flight title...for now

Qatar Airways will soon fly a non-stop route from its home at Doha, Qatar to Auckland, New Zealand, claiming world's longest honors by about 500 miles over Emirates' Dallas-to-Sydney route.

The flight will be scheduled at 18 hours and 34 minutes of non-stop flying. Even in Qatar's well-regarded economy section, that's still a daunting trip.
