Plastic brick by brick: Another Legoland

Stack up the colored plastic bricks and get ready for construction—Legoland is planning to build a new theme park on the site of a former Caterpillar construction equipment factory in Belgium.

The park, planned to open by 2027, will be the fifth one in Europe, and is within reach of many possible visitors from France and Netherlands as well as Belgium. It also has another plus: It's not far from Brussels' second airport at Charleroi, a popular landing point for discount flights from Edinburgh, Manchester and Liverpool.

The park, which will include a Legoland Resort, is expected to create about a thousand jobs. It will join existing parks at Windsor in the UK, Gunzburg in Germany, and near Lake Garda, Italy, as well as parks in Florida and New York State. The first opened in Denmar in 1968.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
