The Pequot Museum and Research Center in Mashantucket, Connecticut has re-opened for its the year with a host of renovations and updates and a full slate of programs representing the history and culture of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe, which operates the museum.
The site is near the Foxwoods Casino, which is also operated by the tribe. The museum represents the Tribe's history and culture as well as the natural history of Southeastern Connecticut and the richness and diversity of indigenous cultures and societies throughout North America.
Among the programs scheduled over the next nine months before the winter closing are a Kids Week in April, showings of a historic documentary Witness to Genocide and several Farmers' Market events.
