Ooooops! Wedding falcon drops the ring

A grand gesture went wrong last week for a couple celebrating their wedding at Duurstede Castle in the Netherlands when a falcon that was supposed to swoop in and deliver the wedding ring to the groom got 'lost in space.'

The falcon apparently got disoriented and landed 300 metres away, dropping the ring as it went. A search by guests, the fire brigade, metal detectors and more failed to locate the ring, which was made with gold from the bride's grandfather's wedding ring.

Despite the loss, the ceremony continued.
