Olympic torch run to start in Marseille

Marseille, once the ancient Greek colony of Massalia, will reconnect with its Greek roots as the landing place for the Olympic flame next year as it arrives from Greece on a three-masted sailing ship.

After a formal reception and ceremonies, the torch will be carried by relays of runners to Paris in time for the opening ceremonies on the river Seine, which open on July 26th.
