Olympic theme wins at 'seafood Olympics'

A Portuguese chef working in Switzerland took the top prize in Nice, France at the 6th Annual World Championship of Seafood Preparers.

Tiago Jesus, from northern Portugal's Vila Nova de Gaia, works at a restaurant at one of the top hotels in Lausanne, and represented Switzerland in this year's competition.

His winning dish, selected by a jury of 24 experts, won over eight others and was cited for the originality and quality of his performance in preparing a dish with an Olympics theme. He told press that "I thought it would be a good idea to use the theme of the Olympic Games in this edition, since it is a current theme and it is linked to my history." Lausanne is the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
