The list of famous sights for travelers in Spain is long: The Alhambra. Sagrada Familia. The Mezquita of Cordoba and more. But in a country rich in UNESCO Heritage sites, they're far from all there is.

TheLocal.es has collected a list of more than a dozen less-well-known sights to recommend for visitors looking to leave the beaten path.

The recommendations range from royal palaces, Gothic cathedrals and Roman ruins to cave dwellings, fishing villages, beaches, and what the Romans believed was the end of the world.
