Nowaday, you can tour New York's past

New York has a new tour opportunity with a paradoxical name. Nowaday, with a fleet of cars from the 20s and 30s offers hour-long tours of Manhattan, starting at "the corner of 7th Avenue and 1927."

That's actually 7th Avenue and Central Park South, at the Marriott Hotel, but you (and presumably their customers) get the idea. The hour-long tours go for $49 per person, or $150 for a party of four. The tour, with the driver as guide, comes in a choice of traditional history-based, casual or combo, and guests are offered period accessories, such as a feather boa, to wear.

Audio in the car plays only tunes from the 20s and 30s. Samantha Rosen, a reporter for The Points Guy website took the tour recently and reported that you become a tourist attraction yourself on the way: "there’s nothing like driving past all those bright lights in a Buick from 1933. Of course, people stopped to snap a photo of our snazzy ride at nearly every corner."

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
