When Barcelona hosted the 1992 Olympics, it staged a Culture Olympics as well, including a series of permanent Olympic-inspired sculptures near the Olympic venues.

This one, by Spanish sculptor Alfredo Lanz, honors all the swimming events, which are represented by the two-dimensional figures of divers, synchronized swimmers, water polo players and speed swimmers. It's just off the beach at Barceloneta.

If I had to pick one favorite city that I've traveled to it would have to be Barcelona. Thanks for the reminder that it's time to go BACK.
