I suspect these views are about as well-known as views of a city from a building can be. And these fellows some of the most famous non-humans in the world. So really, no need to explain. Though not fond of heights, for many years I’d hoped for an opportunity to climb the stairs and finally managed it in the Spring of 2000. Now we all look forward to a time when anyone who desires it can again climb to visit with these beloved characters, take in the views and be infinitely grateful for what we nearly lost.
