New York is home to the latest branch of the Museum of Illusions, which opened recently in a former bank building in Manhattan's trendy Chelsea area. There are also branches in several European and Asian cities, with more coming.
The New York museum, with 4,500 square feet on two floors, has about 70 exhibits, based on science, mathematics, biology and psychology, but all meant to twist your sense of what you can see and feel. The exhibits include illusion rooms, including tilted and upside-down spaces; optical illusions and a playroom stocked with illusionary puzzles and games.
