New York gets interactive Harry Potter store

For those tired of the 'muggle' world around us these days and those who are true hard-core addicts of the world of Harry Potter, a new fantasy world is set to open soon in New York: the largest Potter-themed store anywhere, combined with a variety of interactive games and exhibits.

But since Covid is still out there, when the store finishes its last-minute preparations, all visitors will have to join a virtual queue to enter—possibly a bit less exciting than 'apparating' in—and will need to wear visible face masks. Sorry, no Cloaks of Invisibility as substitutes.

However. the three-story 21,000 square foot store offers plenty of photo-ops throughout the store to recreate those experiences, as well as two multi-player virtual reality experiences to put visitors into the Potter world.

And, oh, by the way: The store is also chock full of every conceivable kind of Potter merchandise for those who have, likely, already got closetsful.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
