Nervous flyer? Virgin Australia wants to help

If you're one of those people who find it nerve-wracking to get on a plane and fly, or even to think about it, Virgin Australia is offering special assistance.

Stuart Aggs, the airline's chief operating officer, says that 10% of its passengers are nervous, and “We understand that for some of our guests, flying can be nerve-wracking and often they feel overwhelmed by the entire travel experience,”

While they can't make it all go away, they will, if you sign up for it, start you off a few days before your flight with an email giving "in-flight wellness research" and a behind-the-scenes look at "technical aspects of Virgin Australia's operations," in hopes that knowing will be calming.

On the day of the flight there's an "encouraging, positive text' and guided meditations on the in-flight entertainment system. There's even a special code on the boarding pass to make sure all staff know who they're dealing with.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
