Mountain railway gets sleek new trains

Fans of classy expensive cars (and some not-so-expensive ones) designed by Italian design house Pininfarina are getting a reason to visit some of Switzerland's highest-altitude attractions with the arrival of sleek new trains in December.

Designed and built for the Montreux Oberland Bernese railway, the Goldenpass Express features sleek lines, huge observation windows and comfortable seats for visitors to Montreux, Gstaad and Interlaken. The new trains replace a 1993 Pininfarina design. The company has also been the designer for many of Europe's mainline high-speed trains as well.

One feature travelers will especially appreciate: The windows of the new train have been engineered so that reflections and vibrations that often show up in from-the-train pictures will be eliminated.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
