Meet a real Stationmaster!

It's taken four years, but Stuart Boyd has visited every railroad station in Great Britain—all across England, Scotland and Wales. And he's not even a train fanatic, he says.

Boyd, who was recently profiled in The Independent (UK), says “I’d describe myself as a travel enthusiast rather than a train enthusiast—I’ll use any transport to get somewhere nice and somewhere new.”

The idea grew from a YouTube series called 'All the Stations,' but which didn't, in fact, cover all the stations. Boyd was disappointed, and set off on his quest to reach all the rail stops, using Twitter as his log. He says he was up to several hundred followers before he realized he was being followed. He has over 7,000 followers now, a number that will probably jump as a result of the interview.

And his future plans? Aside from visiting any new stations that open, he's eying all the stations in Northern Ireland... and then?

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
