I first saw these charming bronze animals through a virtual crowd of kindergarten-age children on a class trip. They'd just left the historic Pioneer Courthouse, and it was all their teachers could do to get them off the seals and onto the bus.

For some reason, the seals seemed to be more popular with the kids...but it's hard not to smile a bit when a beaver looks at you this way!
