Luxury cruise is a super-fast sellout

While the world's attention has been focused on billionaires in space, the mere multi-millionaires have been making travel plans, too, as seen in the less-than-three-hour sellout of a world cruise on the Regent Seven Seas cruise line, even with cabins selling for just shy of $400,000 per couple.

And that's for a cruise that won't even sail until January 6, 2024. Yes, 2024. Not a typo. Regent normally plans one extended world cruise each year, and has had fast sellouts before, including 2022 and 2023.

According to cruise experts and the company, it's the fastest a cruise has ever sold out. The ship, Seven Seas Mariner, has room for 700 passengers. Not all the cabins are at the top price, of course; those with fewer millions in their wallets can find bargains at about $145,000 for two.

The itinerary will include 66 ports in 31 countries, on a route that is more than 34,000 miles long. The ship sails from Miami, and 132 nights later it returns to Miami. The price includes twelve overnight stays in ports and a choice of 442 included-in-the-price shore excursions.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
