'Little Canada' opening its borders

Or perhaps the headline should be "Honey, I shrunk the Canada."

Little Canada opens Sunday in Toronto, featuring a highly detailed miniature attraction filled with animated features, and moving cars, trains, and boats that all operate on a 15-minute day cycle; upon "sunset" thousands of tiny lights illuminate the display.

The attraction is opening with five of its six little destinations complete: Little Toronto, Little Golden Horseshoe, Little Ottawa and Petit Québec. Little North is still under construction.

The 45,000 square foot installation is also populated by several thousand little Canadians; for fee, visitors can enter a "Littlization Station" where 3-D photos will be taken and a new little Canadian will be created to go into the exhibit, or taken home.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
