Lime's new scooter built for rocky road

 

Lime, the 'micro-mobility' company whose electric scooters have become a ubiquitous feature of dozens of urban landscapes, is introducing a new model designed to take on some of the bumpier landscapes it encounters, such as the cobble-stoned streets of Brussels.

The new model, called Gen 3, has two-sided suspension, bigger wheels and an aluminum frame that is supposed to make for a smoother ride on not-so-smooth surfaces. The company says they are also more robust, possibly reducing the number out of service for repairs.

Another new feature: lower price. The scooters will now cost €1 to unlock and the 17 cents per minute, the same as the rate for non-powered bike rentals.
