Legoland New York waiting for 2021

Fans of putting bricks on top of bricks to build fantastic buildings and creatures will have to wait a bit longer to do it big-time in the northeast.

The huge new Legoland resort development that was to have opened July 4 in Goshen, N.Y., an hour's drive north of New York City will now not open until well into 2021 because of the virus pandemic's effect on construction and business in general.

The 2021 opening will match the planned opening of a 250-room Lego-themed hotel at the resort, which will feature four different styles of Lego-themed rooms. Enthusiasts who already bought tickets or annual passes will have them extended for use next year.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
