Kuwait to take travelers DNA samples later this year

Kuwait will require its citizens, temporary residents and tourists to submit DNA samples. Collections for visitors will be done at a special center at Kuwait International Airport.

This law was passed by the General Assembly last July following a terrorist attack

This is amazingly creepy.  Perhaps they want to run genetic profiles on their visiting guests -- things that might tell them if they have, say, a Jewish heritage.  I don't think the Kuwaiti monarchy has any idea of how most people will react to such a test, but they also might not care.
