June 9: Trans Am Apocalypse, Toronto

Canadian artist John Scott, a long-time industrial worker with big concerns about industrial society, consumer culture and environmental damage, created not one, but three versions of the Apocalypse on cars.

This one, in storage and deteriorating for many years, has been painstakingly restored at the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto. That story can be read here.

The text on the 1980 Firebird Trans Am is the entire book of Revelations, scribed by Scott into acrylic paint.
