Seward, on the Kenai peninsula, is a popular destination during the summer months. When we visited we stayed at the Hotel Seward. This is an older hotel (by American standards) dating to the early 1900’s. The hotel still has about two dozen of its original rooms but has been expanded over time.
We stayed in the Historic wing. The room was small and it was hot when we visited, with no air conditioning, so not that comfortable. But the hotel's lobby was quite interesting and that's what I wanted to share with you today. There were a number of nice chairs in it, but most interesting was the old collection of taxidermized Alaskan animals.
A rather unusual hotel lobby, at least in my travel experience.
