While running around the Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas my husband and I came across this sculpture of John Wayne. It is called the Marshal, (John Wayne as Rooster Cogburn), as was created by Harry Jackson. I believe it is part of the McNutt Sculpture Garden but it is further along down the Riverwalk.

My husband thought it was really cool so I took a picture of him in front of it. I enjoyed seeing it because my grandmother always loved John Wayne. It made me think of her, and reminded me of one of my favorite quotes by him: I never trust a man that doesn’t drink.
