JetBlue, Icelandair partner up frequent-flier plans

JetBlue and Icelandair have opened a partnership that will allow travelers to earn mileage points on each other's flights. The two airlines are already code-share partners for numbers of flights.

JetBlue passengers flying Icelandair will earn 1 point per 2 miles in coach, 1 per mile in economy comfort and 1.25 for business-class, with a minimum of 500 per flight. The points won't count toward elite status, but may be claimed for flights taken within the past month.

Icelandair's passengers flying on JetBlue will have their earnings counted toward elite status on Icelandair. Both airlines are offering double points as a promotion through July 7.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
