Is the MAX getting minimized?

As the Boeing 737 MAX crisis drags on, there have been public suggestions that Boeing might want to rename the plane when it returns, hoping for better public reception. And now it appears that two airlines are taking steps in that direction on their own.

Ryanair, which has 200 of the planes on order, hasn't made a public announcement, but a sharp-eyed photographer, Chris Edwards, spotted Ryanair-livery planes at Boeing's 737 assembly plant labeled '737 8200' where others were labeled 737 MAX.

And Ryanair may not be alone: British Airways parent IAG, which recently signed a letter of intent for 200 planes has also referred to them in its press releases as the 737-8 and 737-10, with MAX nowhere in sight.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
