In Spring, young Danes' fancy turns to...

Well, the picture may make the words unnecessary, but here they are anyway. Sales of sex toys have doubled since everyone was told to stay home, stay safe and, well, stay amused.

According to Sinful, Scandinavia's biggest retailer of erotic aids, the first six days of April racked up a 110% increase over the same period last year. And it's not just Denmark; Sweden was up 121%. Only Norwegian couples failed to push the numbers into triple digits, with only 78% growth.

Mathilde Mackowski, founder of Sinful, says the big sellers are mutliple-day products that offer such things as a "10 Day Love Challenge" or "4 Weeks of Pleasure." She describes them as offering a different product hidden in each of multiple boxes; she told press that they are 'a bit like a Christmas calendar.' She said "The reason for the lockdown makes me sad. But it makes me smile that we are doing something good during this difficult time, when people feel vulnerable."
