Gumbo's Pic of the Day, September 23, 2014: A drive through the Alberta Rockies

 Icefields Parkway

Here are few pictures that I took while I was sitting in the passenger seat during a recent road trip to Banff and Jasper National Parks.  The drive through the southern Rocky Mountains is on the TransCanada highway, but the most scenic portion of the trip is on the Icefields Parkway, leading from Banff to Jasper.  In the pictures, one can see bright blue mountain lakes and fantastic mountain peaks with misty clouds and ice caps, animal crossing bridges on the highway, and hay bales (the symbol of Alberta's prairies).
