Gumbo’s Pic of the Day, March 6, 2015: Postcards from Morocco - the day's end

 

With an apology to the TG gurus for another shot of my friend, the camel rider, we find him at the huge windblown dunes of Erg Chebbi behind the little town of Merzouga on the edge of the Sahara at the end of his hot working day. His two camels behave like a couple of attention-seeking puppies with him, each looking for a little more attention and loving than he might give the other. Another scratch behind their ears is enough to make them shudder with delight!

Gazing at the setting sun, he listens to the call to prayer echoing out from the nearby mosque minaret just as his ancestors have done every day for the past millennium.

Total tranquility and a real magic carpet ride to a distant land...
