Gumbo's Pic of the Day, April 14, 2014: Cherry Blossoms in France

It's spring and the cherry blossoms are opening everywhere. To me few things say "goodbye winter"and "hello spring" more than cherry blossoms. I especially enjoy when the cherry trees are arranged in beautiful rows along paths and roads, like they are in Washington D.C.

These photos were taken in Chartres, a small city near Paris best know for its wonderful medieval cathedral. But this day the cherry blossoms were also a star attraction.
