Greyhound expands to Mexico, offers $1 promo fare

Greyhound, long the biggest intercity bus operator in the U.S., is expanding into Mexico, where it will become the first U.S. operator to run domestic routes in Mexico. Service is starting with Monterrey and Nuevo Laredo, connecting to Greyhound hubs in Texas.

Greyhound will operate out of new terminals in both cities, with a fleet of new buses equipped with WiFi, seatbelts, power outlets and more. For the first two weeks, at least some tickets on each of the 23 daily runs will be sold at $1, or 25 pesos, but only through Greyhound's websites.

The service, which also includes service between the two Mexico terminals, can connect travelers to more than 3800 other North American destinations served by Greyhound.
