God Beams, Banff National Park

I'd first heard about "God Beams" during a great lecture and slideshow I attended, presented by the amazingly talented Galen Rowell.  His photography is absolutely amazing-- check out some of his images in a search engine.

God Beams (crepuscular rays) are seen when a beam of light breaks through heavy cloud or smoke, most often around sunrise and sunset.

These photos were taken early one morning while camping at Healey Creek in Banff National Park
