Frontier thinks big with huge expansion

Frontier Airlines is planning a big route and flight expansion over the next few months that will add 85 new routes serving 21 new cities, as well as adding dozens of flights to its existing routes by next summer

The expansion will leapfrog Frontier past Spirit as the U.S. discounter serving the most cities, with 82, although Spirit will still have more international destinations. Frontier's new cities include 18 they have served at some point in the past, plus three newcomers: Buffalo, Charleston, SC and Pensacola, FL.

The cities that will have service restored are Albuquerque, Boise, Calgary, El Paso, Fargo, N.D., Fresno, Grand Rapids, Jackson Hole WY, Jacksonville FL. Little Rock, Louisville, Oklahoma City, Ontario CA, Palm Springs, Reno, San Jose, Spokane and Tulsa.

Existing cities that will get the bulk of added flights include Austin, Cincinnati, Islip NY, Orlando, Providence and Tampa, as well as the airline's Denver home.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
