Frontier: Kids under 14 fly free

Families who fly Frontier to take advantage of its low fares can now fly even cheaper as the airline offers free fare to children through age 14, a perk unusual for any airline.

Of course, there are catches: To be eligible, a family has to buy a $59.99 annual membership in the airline's Discount Den program, 'free' doesn't apply to fees and charges for baggage, seat choice, etc., and  only applies to certain listed flights. And only one free child seat per paid adult ticket.

Still, if you're flying on one of the days and flights the promotion is in effect, you could hardly go wrong on price.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
