France has some new 'Do's' and 'Dont's"

France's highest court has ruled that it's perfectly legal to warn everyone where the police are operating a radar trap or speed cameras.

The Cour de Cassation ruled in the case of a group of fourteen drivers sharing a Facebook page to exchange information on "Where the Police are in Aveyron." They faced driving bans and loss of license points. The court ruled that while it's okay to tell everyone what you saw on the road, you still can't use radar detectors or similar devices that automatically find and report speed radar.

But before you raise your cup to toast their victory, check your calendar! Time is running out on plastic cups, plates and tableware that are used once and tossed. A bill passed a year ago, and taking effect in 2020, bans use of single-use plastic, including in vending machines.

Supporters of the law pointed out that only 1% of an estimated 4.73 plastic cups are being recycled. There's also concern that the plastics used can be harmful to users when filled with hot drinks. By 2020, all disposables will be required to be biologically-sourced and compostable.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
