Four cities unite to protect heritage stores

Lisbon, Barcelona, Paris and Rome have joined in a municipal alliance for the preservation and protection of the "historic and emblematic" stores of the cities.

The agreement, signed in Barcelona for government measures and special plans that allow the recognition of the importance of these establishments and contribute to their protection, conservation and enhancement with actions that allow them economic viability, as well as heritage conservation and commercial function.

The plan also calls for local authorities to work with historic retailers as co-creators and to provide a variety of needed supports
