Fast-growing cruise line hasn't sailed yet!

One of the fastest-growing luxury cruise lines is on its third order, for a total of six ships—but the first one won't even set sail until May, 2023.

Explora Journeys may seem like a risky venture, but it has a deep-pocketed parent backing up the bills: it's owned by the owners of MSC Cruises, which is not only a large cruise company but one of the largest container-ship operations.

The ships, all in the just-under-1000-passenger range favored by other luxury brands such as Viking and Crystal, are being built by Fincantieri in Italy. They are all of the same basic design, although the latest two ordered will be a bit longer. The remaining ships are to be delivered one a year through 2028.

Explora Journeys has said its vessels would offer oceanfront suites, penthouses and residences designed to be “homes at sea.” Its first ship will have 10 distinct culinary experiences, 10 indoor and outdoor bars and lounges, four swimming pools, outdoor deck areas with private cabanas, wellness facilities and entertainment.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
