European discounter adds routes to Israel

The airline everyone loves to hate, Irish discount Ryanair, is expanding its flight map to include travel to and from Israel.

Ryanair's Israeli flights will operate out of the Ovda Airport, about 40 miles north of Eilat in southern Israel. The airline will offer two flights weekly to each of three European cities starting in early November 2015: Kaunas, Lithuania; Budapest, Hungary; and Krakow, Poland. It expects to serve about 40,000 passengers annually on these routes. The airline hopes to add more routes to Israel in the future.

Seats for the Israel routes will begin selling seats on Thursday, with typical low Ryainair promotional fares of €29.99 (about US$33) – each way.
