Europe set to OK SkyTeam hook-up for Paris

It looks like European regulators are set to approve a joint operation covering routes between the U.S., Paris, Rome and Amsterdam. The arrangement, under scrutiny for three years, would let the airlines, all SkyTeam members, plan schedules together and share out revenue.

The arrangement is similar to the one that OneWorld members American, British Air and Iberia share on New York-London routes, and to United/Air Canada/Lufthansa's Frankfurt arrangement.

To get approval, the carriers will have to make some concessions to new carriers trying to serve the Amsterdam and Rome routes.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
