Three discount airlines have put themselves together in a partnership that could give EasyJet a network of destinations in the U.S., extend Spirit Airlines' reach into Europe and provide fledging trans-Atlantic carrier Norse Air a source of new customers.
Norwegian, the airline that preceded Norse as a trans-ocean discounter, is in the deal, too, linking its regional network to Norse's routes as well. Booking is available immediately, although only for flights in September and later.
With EasyJet's European routes second only to Ryanair in its reach and Spirit's strong eastern U.S. network, it seems like an obvious winner, allowing discount passengers to reach more destinations on a single itinerary. On the other hand, one leg of the platform may be subject to change, with Spirit's sale to JetBlue
