Dutch nominate misleading foods for 'award'

The Dutch consumer group Foodwatch has nominated three food products for its annual 'Most Misleading Product' award. There were originally four nominees, but one quickly renamed its product to avoid the award.

Nocole van Gemert of Foodwatch told Dutch press that "This is the award no-one wants," after Toko Lien quickly changed its 'ginger syrup' to 'syrup with ginger flavoring' after hearing it was about to be nominated.

The remaining 'contestants' are Jumbo brand iced teas, with names like Inner Beauty and Feel Immune, but which are actually just water, sugar and some vitamins; Ambachtelijke Salade Oma’s Aardappel-Scharrelei, or ‘grandmother’s hand-crafted potato and free range egg salad’ which was cited for a host of industrial ingredients, and Kellogg's All Bran Fruit'n'Fibre. The cereal  was cited not on ingredients, but for keeping the same size box, but reducing weight by 25%.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
